Coalition for Aging Services

"Society is judged by how it treats its citizens in the dawn of life, in the shadows of life, and in the twilight of life"                   ~ Hubert Humphrey

The Coalition for Aging Services of Lackawanna County is comprised of local aging service providers dedicated to providing care and/or services to older adults and their families throughout Lackawanna County.

Members of the Coalition are representatives from within the aging network who come together in order to aide one another in ensuring that quality care, services and programs are available to older adults, their families and their caregivers. Providers run the gamut - from senior high rises and senior centers to providers of home and community based services to hospitals and long term care facilities.

The Coalition strives to facilitate collaborative efforts among service providers. Our goals are to promote the maximum use of resources, while identifying and avoiding duplication of services and programs; and to educate members and the general public of aging issues.

Our Mission:

The Coalition is organized exclusively to further promote awareness of services and issues affecting older adults to the community.  The Coalition will accomplish this through education, advocacy and coalition building.

The Coalition shall encourage partnership building and regular communication with local, state and federal organizations.
